Bring Some Snacks And Join Us On The Lawn
Maybe you want to join in on the discussion, but you don't have time read the book. Maybe you have already read the book and want to revisit it without a full rereading. Maybe books really aren't your thing, but you saw the movie! Whatever the case, you are welcomed!
A "club with no books" book club is a chance to discuss themes common to literature without the stress of meeting a reading deadline.
For the month of March, I would like to discuss the theme of Individual Choices vs. Societal Expectations presented in four books:
Kindred by Octavia Butler
Binti by Nnedi Orkorafor
The Color Purple by Alice Walker
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neal Hurston
Remember, you don't have to read the books to participate. I will give an overview to each book and facilitate the discussion so everyone feels welcomed. Bring a friend!
*Note* This meetup is OUTSIDE and in a shaded grassy area. It is suggested you bring a blanket or lawn chair, and food/beverage.
